Description
During Term 01 at BCIT, our Airport Research Project focused on an in-depth study of the Northwest Regional Airport (YXT). The research encompassed a range of topics including:
- Classifying the airport according to Transport Canada's standards.
- Analyzing the terminal building design, along with its pros and cons.
- Detailing the airfield layout, types of air operations, as well as annual passenger and aircraft movement statistics.
- Cataloging the aeronautical and non-aeronautical services and facilities available.
- Assessing the necessary safety and security measures required at the airport.
- Investigating the airport's engagement with First Peoples and its efforts towards sustainability.
Goal
The purpose of the assignment was to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of various aspects of an airport and its operations through a technical research report.
Personal Contribution
